Wilma Marie Mather Hovious, age 79, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Hodgenville, passed away Friday, November 28, 2025, at Baptist Health Hardin.
She dedicated her life to caregiving and retired from Sunrise Manor after 20+ years, was an avid volunteer for Relay For Life and enjoyed baking, reading books and spending time with her family at The Lincoln Jamboree.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood Hovious; two daughters, Robin Benningfield and Wanda Hovious Graham; her parents, Maurice and Bertrice Spratt Mather; a great-grandson, Kharmon Hovious; two brothers, Kenny Mather and Harold Gordon Mather; two sisters, Betty Jane Durall and Gladys Mather and an infant brother, Gerald Mather.
She is survived by three sons, Robert Mather of Elizabethtown, Adrian Hovious of New Mexico and Bradley Hovious of Magnolia; a special granddaughter that she helped raise, Amanda Hovious; a brother, Hugh “Roy” (Angie) Mather of Rineyville; three sisters, Ann Brewer of Hodgenville and Jeanette (Ruben) Gardner and Norma Sue Ballinger, all of Elizabethtown; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Wilma was cremated and the family will have a celebration of life service at a later date.
Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville is assisting the family.
