William Carl “Skinner” Vance, age 72, of Bardstown, passed away October 3, 2021, in his home with family by his side.
He was born October 24, 1948 in Hart County, Kentucky to Dolly and Vester Vance.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dolly and Vester Vance; a sister, Rosella Robinson; two half-brothers, Wendell Vance and Gerald Vance; two half-sisters, Priscilla Hudgins and Juanita Curtis and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is leaving behind his wife of 38 years, Carolyn Waters Vance; two children, Christopher (Brittany) Vance and Kimberly (Steve) Ackrish both of North Carolina; three bonus children, April (Lance) Croghan of Rineyville, Gretchen Weis-Bucknam of Simpsonville and John (Jessie) Weis of Springfield; twelve grandchildren; Ashton (Zack) Brown of NC, Bethany (Logan) Weaver of NC, Natalie Hunter of Alaska, Weston Vance of Alaska and Olivia Vance of NC, Ryley and Audrey Bucknam of Simpsonville, Elizabeth Croghan of Lexington, Norah Croghan of Rineyville and Gabe Weis, Tucker Weis and Charlee Rae Weis all of Springfield and one great-granddaughter, Charleston Kate.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM (ET), Friday, October 8 at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with burial to follow in Pearl Webb Cemetery in Canmer.
Visitation will be Thursday from 1 to 8 PM (ET) and after 9 AM (ET) at the funeral home.
