William Gene "Billy" Smith

William Gene “Billy” Smith, age 70, of Elizabethtown, passed away, Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.

He retired from Gates Rubber Company and was an avid fisherman.

Billy was preceded in death by a daughter, Nicole Murray; his parents, Granville and Mamie Rigdon Smith; a granddaughter, Emma Smith; a sister, Nancy Bigelow and his father-in-law, Shorty Gardner

He is survived by his wife, Glenda Smith; a son, Timothy R. (Nicole Marlowe) Smith of Elizabethtown; five grandchildren, Destinee Beach, Haleigh Love, Muirgheal Murray, Chasity Allen and Zack Allen; five great grandchildren, Adalynn, Kaidyn, Elianna, Khole and Emberleigh; three sisters, Brenda (Harlen) Beam, Laura (Randy) Ramsey and Becky (Dennis) Peake and his mother-in-law, Dorothy Gardner. 

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Friday, February 12, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, with Bro. Steve Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Union Christian Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM, Thursday and after 9 AM, Friday, at the funeral home.
