William “Bill” Wilson, age 92, of Hodgenville, passed away, Monday, November 4, 2024, at his residence.
He owned and operated Wilson’s Market and then worked at E.W. James for several years before retiring at age 80, being in the grocery business for nearly half a century.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Marietta Wilson on January 10, 2024; his parents, Ansel Strasburger and Clella Mae Duvall Wilson; a brother, John Daymon Wilson and a sister, Betty Jeraleen Kirchner.
He is survived by a daughter, Karen (Tom) Smith of Hodgenville; three grandchildren, Laurie Elizabeth (Billy) Cheser of Elizabethtown, Abby (Brennan) Conway and Ryan Thomas Smith of Elizabethtown and four great-granddaughters, including Amelia Lyn Smith and Stella Rose Cheser.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 9, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bros. Billy Curle and Scott Curle officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
