William R. “Bill” Heath, age 88, of Sonora, passed away, Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Baptist Health Hardin.
He was retired from Crucible Steel in Elizabethtown, an Army veteran, avid fisherman, loved gardening and was an engineer of many things.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William “Doc” and Alice Josephine VanCleave Heath; four sisters, Margie Routt, Imogene Bright, Catherine Heath and Alice Brown; two brothers, Sonny Heath and Ben Burba.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Vivian Hensley Heath; a daughter, Kim (Barry) Rucker; a son, Ronnie (Connie) Heath all of Sonora; two sisters, Dorothy Cruse of Hart County and Frankie (Tommy) Bell of Hodgenville; a brother, Johnny (Nancy) Heath of Magnolia; five grandchildren, Travis, William and Joshua Rucker, Jonathan Fox and April Foster; five great-grandchildren, Hudson Rucker, Mikeal Aldridge, Ashlyn Fox, Lilly Beverly and Landen Fox; a great-great-grandson, David Beverly.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, Bro. Sid Lewis and Bro. Darrell Hensley officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors in Conyers Cemetery in Hart County.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday morning at the funeral home.
