Wanda Lynn Crowder Pepper, age 82, of Crestwood, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 18, 2024.
She was born on October 31, 1941, to the late William “Buck” and Vesta Mae Law Crowder.
She was a home economics teacher at Oldham County High School. She went on to work as a dietician at the Masonic Home in Louisville. Her later years were spent being a wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to laugh and said it was laughter that gave her longevity. She was also a wonderful cook and enjoyed trying different recipes or putting a new spin on an old favorite. Her belief in God and conviction of faith kept her true to her values. She would support family and friends to the end and be there in an instant when they would call. She didn’t know a stranger and made everyone she met feel special and laugh about something.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Pennye Carol Pepper; her sister, Nancy Ellen Shreve and granddaughter, Miranda Nicole Gunlogson.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joseph Carroll Pepper; children: Joseph Thaddeus Pepper (Holly) and Laura Ellen Seger (Louie); grandchildren, Denise Michelle Gunlogson Baker, Samantha Lynn Seger (Billy), Dillon Cole Seger, Kaitlin Claire Pepper and Joseph Austin Pepper; siblings, Diane Edwards, William “Billy” Crowder and Cynthia “Cindy” McIntyre and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon (ET), Monday, July 22, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Bro. Sid Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. (ET), Monday at the funeral home.
