Vonda Jane Gray, age 67, of Hodgenville passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025 at her residence.
Born to Gordon and Elizabeth Gray on January 17, 1958, in Christian County, Vonda was a proud graduate of the University of Kentucky. She worked in child protective services, foster care and mental health services in Tennessee before moving to Hodgenville in 2020 to help take care of her mother.
Vonda was an active member of Hodgenville United Methodist Church where she served as youth Sunday School and Bible School teacher, helped lead the GriefShare group, was the former chair of the Administrative Council, worked in the Hope Food Pantry and in kids’ ministries, and was a United Women in Faith member. She had a passion for 4H and served as head of the cooking club at the LaRue County Extension office. She was a member of the Hodgenville Woman’s Club and served on the Hodgenville Code Enforcement Board. Vonda was an avid collector of quilts, Bybee pottery, porcelain dolls and other antiquities. She loved the Kentucky Wildcats and her own precious cats.
Vonda was preceded in death by her husband, David Allen; her parents; her brothers John Gray and Edward Gray; beloved sister-in-law, Ann “Rooney” Gray.
She is survived by her nieces, Mary Elizabeth Cooper and husband Paul of Hodgenville; Kathryn Tabb and husband, Daniel, of Elizabethtown; sister-in-law, Genie Gray and nephew, John Michael Gray and wife Andrea of Maryland; great nieces, Caroline, Elizabeth, Charlotte and June; and great nephews, Henry and Asher, as well as a host of family and friends.
Cremation was chosen.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 17 at Hodgenville United Methodist Church with Bro. Cameron Rash officiating.
Memorial visitation will be held 12 Noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.
