Vivian Rachel Caven Berry, age 92, of Hudgins, passed away Friday, August 16, 2024, surrounded by her family at her residence.
A lifelong member of Aetna Grove Baptist Church and a lifelong farmer, she was a beloved member of the Hudgins Community, where her family has lived for generations, and was always willing to help her neighbors with everything from garden vegetables to caretaking.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Winferd Berry; her parents, Elmer and Victoria Goff Caven; three sisters, Vada Opal Saling, Evelyn Vaughn and Gladys Whitlow; two brothers, Omer “Rooster” Caven and Deward Caven and a great-grandson, Gabriel Ford.
Vivian is survived by a daughter, Regina Kay Berry; a son, Danny Wayne Berry, all of Hudgins; two grandchildren, Shyler (Josh Skaggs) Berry and their children, Braylen Wayne, Zakiya Caven and Everleigh Grace and James Ford and his children, Rachel Elizabeth and Ethan James and a special caregiver and friend, Gayle Toomer, who has made this last year so special.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. (ET), Thursday, August 22, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Kelvin Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Aetna Grove Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. (ET) Wednesday and after 9 a.m. (ET) Thursday at the funeral home.
