Virginia Mae “Jenny” Walters, age 93, of Magnolia, passed away, Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Valhalla Nursing Facility in Louisville.
She was a treasurer for Buffalo Baptist Church and a choir member; she retired from Buffalo Head Start as a teacher. She was active member of the LaRue County Pork Producers and loved cooking, gardening and farming.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, William Richard Walters; her parents, William Carl and Minnie Pearl Williams Dixon; four sisters, Shirley Doty, Marilyn Barbour, Elaine Shipp and Alice Dixon; a grandson, Tyronne Anthony Yearwood and a son in law, Toby Dean Madison.
She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Diane (Robert Glenn) Purify of Louisville; a son, Richard Neal (Therese) Walters of Louisville; four sisters, Neva Crutcher, Linda Mills, Carol Thompson all of Elizabethtown and Marva McDougal of Akron, Ohio; a brother, James Carl Dixon of Elizabethtown; two grandchildren, Emily Madison (Brian) Druin, Warren Neal Walters and five great grandchildren, Jasmine Warren, Gavin Yearwood, Maxwell Yearwood, Macy Yearwood and Miller Druin.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 17, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Douglas Barbour officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
