Vicki Jo Zieg Skaggs, age 86, of Hodgenville, passed away, Monday, March 17, 2025, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.
She was an Instructional Assistant in Special Education for 26 years for LaRue County School System, a member of First Baptist Church Hodgenville and a former member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church where she was the youth choir director and a Sunday School teacher.
Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Gene and Virginia Taylor Buchanan Zieg; a brother, Jack Zieg and a sister, Ree Ann Berquist.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Harold Skaggs; a daughter, Melanie (Ronnie) Read of Magnolia; a son, Mike Skaggs of North Carolina; five grandchildren, Hilary Skaggs, Hannah (John) Stevenson, Aaron Mayfield, Austin Mayfield and Jordan (Haylee) McGaw; six great-grandchildren, Emma Mayfield, Scarlett Stevenson, Owen Stevenson, Elliott McGaw, Beckham Mayfield and Judah McGaw and a brother, Bobby Hodges of Flatwoods.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 21, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Rev. Roger Pepper officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
