Vera Colleen Weathers, 67, of Louisville, formerly of Hodgenville, was born on February 23, 1958, to the late Brenda Weathers Handley and the late Arthur Wayne Handley and she departed this life on February 19, 2025, at the University of Louisville Hospital.
Vera professed her faith in Christ at an early age and was a lifelong member at Lane Lincoln CME Church. Vera loved her family dearly. She was always willing to lend a helping hand. She loved to cook and briefly attended culinary school. She was proceeded in death by her parents; a son, Troy Weathers; a brother, Randall Handley and her friend, Mary Moffit.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her sons, Brandon Weathers of Louisville, JaRay (Valerie) Weathers of Elizabethtown; her brothers, Kerwin (Kaitlyn) Weathers of Buffalo, Andre (Shakara) Weathers of Campbellsville, Arthur Wayne Hambric, Leonard Hambric, Derrick Hambric, all of Louisville; her sisters, Sharon (Nathaniel) Marshall of Indiana, Pamela Handley of Illinois and Faye Hambric; four grandchildren, Javion Weathers, Keiden Maddox, JaRay’a Weathers, Quinn Drake, Jr.; an aunt, Sue Ann Best of Bardstown; special friends, Wyoma Curle, Kathy Turner, Jackie Furman-Ellis; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at First Baptist Church Hodgenville with Bros. Billy and Scotty Curle Officiating. Cremation will follow.
Visitation will begin at 12 noon and continue until time for the funeral.
