William Taylor Durham, age 89, of Magnolia, passed away, Sunday, July 14, 2024, at University of Louisville Hospital.
He was a member of South Fork Baptist Church, a lifelong farmer who was an avid horseman that loved showing horses, a real true-blue cowboy. Taylor always rooted for the underdog, a missionary at heart sharing the love of Jesus with anyone he met. He was a selfless giving man and loved to sing.
Taylor was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Powell Durham; a daughter, Lisa Durham; a son, John Mark Durham; his parents, Forrest and Mattie Patterson Durham; three brothers, J.P. “Bull” Durham, Bobby Durham and Charles Durham.
He is survived by two daughters, Betty (Glenn) Villanueva of Rineyville and Karen (Larry) Elliott of Buffalo; a son, Bryan (Machelle) Durham of Buffalo; seven grandchildren, Sara Gibbons, Amy Nunn, Lauren Quick, Betsy Durham, Emily Cunningham, Denver Elliott and Jeremy Bennett; 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Shannon McCubbins and Bro. Jonathan Carl officiating. Burial will follow in the Haven of Rest Cemetery in Mt. Sherman.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and continue after 9 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Larry Elliott, Billy Cunningham, Glenn Villanueva, Forrest Durham, Blake Cunningham, Brandon Cunningham and Jeremy Bennett.
