Shirley Ann Johnson, 87, of Magnolia, KY, passed away, peacefully on May 4, 2024. Shirley dedicated her life to caring for her family and tending to her family farm, where she took immense pride in maintaining a beautiful home. Her brief career at GE was overshadowed by her passion for homemaking and running the farm.
Known as the "Yard Sale Queen of Magnolia," Shirley had a knack for finding the best bargains and enjoyed sharing her treasures with family and friends. She was a DIY enthusiast before it became trendy, often crafting her own decorations and household items.
Shirley's heart was always focused on the welfare of children, and she generously supported charities aimed at helping them. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating lasting memories during family gatherings, while cooking her signature dishes.
Survived by her husband of 71 years, David R. Johnson, Shirley leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication to family. She is also survived by her children, David W. Johnson and Sharron Lynn (Terry) Vittitow, along with six grandchildren, John Golden, Krystall Montemayor, Sarah Mann, Kelly Scott, Andrew Johnson and Katie Allensworth; five great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Alyvia, Sophia, Grady and Archer; a great-great-granddaughter, Lily; a son in law, Charlie Allensworth and a special sister, Doris Ann Puckett.
Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Bobbie K. Allensworth.
She will be fondly remembered for her warm heart, creative spirit, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home, Bro. Shannon McCubbins officiating.
Visitation will begin after 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
