Shirley Claywell Loyall, age 85, of Hodgenville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, one day short of her 86th birthday on Monday, September 9, 2024, at her residence.
She was a proud former employee of LG&E in Louisville, homemaker and co-owner of Arval’s Upholstery and was a member of Seminary Methodist Church in Burkesville.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Ilus Milburn and Lovel Easter Claywell; two sisters, Helen Elmore and an infant sister, Margaret Ann Claywell and four brothers, Ralph, Rollin, Richard and Harley Wayne Claywell.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Arval Winford Loyall; a daughter, Monica (Scott) Frazier of Lexington; a son, Michael (Shelly) Loyall of Taylorsville; two grandsons, Steven and Kevin Loyall, both of Taylorsville; two brothers, Bennie Earl Claywell of Louisville and Lyle Webster Claywell of Hodgenville; numerous nieces and nephews and her two cats, Lily and Blackie.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. (ET), Friday, September 13, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Bro. Gary Cash officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. (ET) Thursday and after 10 a.m. (ET), Friday at the funeral home.
Shirley’s pallbearers will be Steven Loyall, Kevin Loyall, Jacob Claywell, Doug Elmore, Glen Loyall and Bobby Loyall.
