Sheila Bell Ake, age, 70, of Buffalo, passed away, Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at her residence.
She retired from Nationwide Uniform Company and was a big fan of Elvis.
Sheila was preceded in death by husband, Wendell Gene “Blackie” Ake and her parents, Calvin and Geneva Ward Bell.
She is survived by a daughter, Shelly Ake of Buffalo; two sons, Wendell Gene Ake Jr. of Buffalo and Travis Ake of Taylorsville; three sisters, Becky (Freddie) Hutcherson, Libbie (Donnie) Engle and Lisa (P.J.) Spalding all of Buffalo; five grandchildren, Trevor Ake, Trenton Ake, Kelly Ake, Hunter Dye and Autum Dye; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Ake, Wrenleigh Ake and Zurilynn Duvall.
Funeral services will be help 11 a.m. Saturday, January 24, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, Bro. Merrill Kurtz officiating. Burial will follow alongside her husband in Mt. Tabor Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 am Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations to the family can be made at the funeral home.
