Sandra Kay Slayton, age 72, of Magnolia, passed away Monday, July 11, 2022, at Hosparus Inpatient Center in Louisville.
A very loving and kindhearted woman, she was very giving; was a member of Steadfast Baptist Church in Hodgenville and a former member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church near Mt. Sherman. She worked for over 17 years at Stop-N-Shop in Magnolia and several years at Fruit of The Loom in Campbellsville.
Sandra was preceded in death by her mother, Libby Graham Metcalf Moyer; her grandparents, Willie and Mary Jarvis Lawrence and a special cousin, David Benningfield.
She is survived by her husband, Sammy “Bo” Slayton; a son, Stephen Slayton of Versailles; two grandchildren, Lily and Ethan Slayton; a sister, Sharon Graham Ellenson and the Benningfield Cousins; Roger, Donnie and Coleen.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 14, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Rodney Troutman and Bro. Shannon McCubbins officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Moriah Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
