Sandra Durfee Obituary

Sandra L. Durfee, age 63, of Hodgenville, Kentucky tragically passed on Saturday, June 24, 2023. Sandy was born in Fall River, Massachusetts on August 26, 1959, to the late Roger & Helen (Farias) Langevin.

She was employed for many years as a Head Teller for Fort Knox Federal Credit Union (now Abound) and Lincoln National Bank.

Sandy’s selfless devotion to her family and country during all times, taking the best care of her family in her husband Ron’s absence, making many decisions by her self and in foreign country when he was deployed in the US Army will never be forgotten. She was very family oriented and one of her biggest passions was spending time with her family. She looked forward to spending time with her husband at their lake house. She had a great love for her two German Shepards, Sasha & Rex, that she lovingly referred to as her “pups”.  She had a love of the ocean and imprinted that love and her family in her signature tattoo of sea turtles with the inscription “Ohana” on her arm. With a sea turtle for each of her grandchildren. Ohana meaning family in native Hawaiian. Her trademark “Sass” will be missed as she is someone where you always knew where you stood.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Ron; daughter, April and husband Josh of Hodgenville; son, Brian and wife Sarah of Massachusetts; sisters, Cheryl and husband, Alan Zimmerman of Maryland and Sue and husband Danny Bundy of Florida; grandchildren, Maya Bennett, Aria and Lana Landon, Michael and Jayden Westbrooks.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home, 208 West Water Street in Hodgenville from 5 to 8 pm on Friday, July 7th for a period of visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory are kindly directed to the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org
