Roger Dewayne Thompson, age 65, of Hodgenville, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.
He made a profession of faith at an early age and was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. Dewayne retired as owner and operator of R&R Thompson Trucking and was an avid car and truck enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur T. and Velmar Opal Warren Thompson; a sister, Velva DeSpain and a brother, Danny Gale Thompson.
Dewayne is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rita Jenkins Thompson; two daughters, Vanessa Kay Underwood and Jessica Ranay (Jason) Bingham, all of Hodgenville and three grandchildren, Haleigh Mariah Gregory, Dalton Blake Underwood and Olivia Grace Bingham.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bros. DeWayne Gibson and Dale Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM, Friday and after 9 AM, Saturday at the funeral home.
The family requests that all visitors wear a face covering and practice social distancing.
