Rod Walters, age 73, of Magnolia, passed away Monday, July 20, 2026, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.
An Army veteran, he retired from civil service after 35 years of service; was a lifelong farmer and attended New Freedom Baptist Church.
Rod was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Lee and Mary Elizabeth Clopton Walters.
He is survived by his wife, Bonita Pendleton Walters; a daughter, Cheryl (Garrison) Seabrooks; a son, Corey (Chastity) Walters; a step-son, Alvin (Christina) Pendleton; a bonus daughter, April Pendleton; 11 grandchildren, Makayla Rohlff, Tyler (Kayla) Rohlff, Jesse (Gracie) Walters, Logan Walters, Anthony (Kaitlyn) Huff, Michael Huff, T.J. Dever, Thomas Pendleton, Austin Pendleton, Amber Stevenson and Nicole Pendleton; five great-grandchildren, Carter, Abram, Javi, Jennsyn and Atticus; a brother, Glen Walters; a niece, Jennifer (Ron) Lyles; a nephew, Brian (Rachael) Walters and numerous cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. (ET) Saturday, July 25, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Bro. Robert Jewell officiating. Burial will follow in Benningfield Chapel Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. (ET) Friday and after 9 a.m. (ET) Saturday at the funeral home.
