Robert Preston Combs

Robert Preston Combs, age 61, of Hodgenville, passed away, Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

He was an 11 year Army veteran serving during Desert Storm in Iraq, was a former employee of Gates Rubber Company in Elizabethtown, he was saved and baptized and loved to fish with his grandson.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Veronika Steck Combs and a sister, Betty Fryman.

He is survived by his wife, Vanessa Bowen Combs; three sisters, Marianne Smith of Tulsa Oklahoma, Susan Hardin and Katherine (Roger) Branch all of Elizabethtown; a step-daughter, Sonya Turner; a step-son, David  (Jessica) Marschke; three step-grandchildren, Mackenzie Mattingly, Charlie Marschke and Jenna Lehring.

Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. Friday, May 3, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, with Bro. Nathan Housley officiating. Cremation will follow.

Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
