"What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments but what is woven into the
lives of others" – Thucydides
Renee Marie Grimm, of Hodgenville, passed away, at age 45, surrounded by loved ones and
her amazing care team at Baptist Health in Louisville.
She was born August 4th, 1977, to Donovan and Dianna Gotreaux (Gozzard-Moder) in
Heidelberg Germany. She grew up in Eunice, Louisiana and was proud of her fiery Cajun heritage. Later in life she moved with her parents to LaRue County and Hodgenville quickly became her "home".
Renee graduated from LaRue County High School in 1995 where she excelled at golf and enjoyed time spent with her many friends. As a youth she was an active member of Acteens at Buffalo Baptist Church and loved to spend time with her group doing community activities. She later graduated from Sullivan University in Louisville, where she studied Human Resource Management.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donovan Gotreaux and her step-father, Randy Moder.
Renee married her high school sweetheart, Chris and later they added a son, Hunter to their
growing family and Renee became a full-time mother and loved every minute of it.
She also leaves her living legacy in her mother, Dianna Gozzard Moder; her loving brother, Tommy (Shareef) Gotreaux; her grandfather, John Gozzard; four nephews, a new niece, a ton of little cousins that she just adored and countless others who have been touched by her kind heart.
Renee touched everyone who knew her, with love and joy. She taught us all that love was to
be given freely with no expectations, no requisites and no boundaries.
The family will have a celebration of life service at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 6, at LaRue County Sportsman Lake Clubhouse, Sportsman Lake Road in Hodgenville. Snacks and refreshments will be provided but if you would like to bring something, please feel free to do so.
Renee was never much on flowers and would rather see donations to those in need instead.
Food scarcity was something close to her heart, so her request is in lieu of flowers please make donations to Warm Blessings Community Kitchen in Elizabethtown or any of the amazing food insecurity programs in our area.
