Peggy Ann Wright Wakefield

Peggy Ann Wright Wakefield, age 75, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2022, at her home in Bradenton, Florida.

Peggy and her husband were missionaries for 35 years with IMB (the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention). She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother with a wonderful sense of humor and a deep and abiding devotion to her Lord and Savior.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Verner and Mildred Harbin Wright and a sister, Jean Duke.

She is survived by her husband of 55 ½ years, Larry Wayne Wakefield, Ph.D.; a son, Mark Wakefield of Guatemala; a daughter, Wendy (Steve) Willis of Sarasota, FL and their sons, Benjamin and Nathaniel Willis; and a brother, Bobby Wright of Hodgenville.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 21, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Rev. Merrill Kurtz and Mark Wakefield officiating. Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery in Hodgenville.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
