Noyce Gasaway Skaggs, age 84, of Hodgenville, passed away Monday, January 22, 2024, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.
She retired from Sunrise Manor Nursing Home after nearly 20 years and was a caregiver for the elderly up until last year; was a member of Ovesen Heights Baptist Church for many years, loved her family and loved to cook and travel.
Noyce was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Wayne Skaggs; her parents, Virgil Hardin and Vivian Lois Rexroat Gasaway and a brother, V. H. Gasaway.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Kevin) Boone of Howardstown; two step-children, Sierra (Calvin) Smith of Lexington and Mitchell Wayne (Sandra) Skaggs of Winchester; two sisters, Azilee Pierce of Elizabethtown and Patricia Wade of Crestwood; two grandchildren, Emily (Kurt) Leisenring of Virginia Beach, VA and Aaron Boone of Nashville, TN; a great-granddaughter, Alice Leisenring and several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 26, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Merrill Kurtz officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
