Norma Jean McDonald, 82, of Hodgenville, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 22, 2021, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home surrounded by her family and free at last from Alzheimer’s.
She was a member and former organist and pianist at South Fork Baptist Church, named the 2010 LaRue County Homemakers Mother of the Year and enjoyed her membership in the South Fork Homemakers and being an elementary school room mother for her daughters and grandson, Sean.
Norma jean was preceded in death by her parents, Joel Martin and Margaret Redman Dixon and a sister, Virginia Allen.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Wesley McDonald; two daughters, Doris Jean Holleran and Joyce Lynn (Doug) Acree; her brother, Joel (Kitty) Dixon; three sisters-in-law, Jane Clark, Glenda (Tom) Burba and Pam McDonald; two grandsons and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM (ET), Thursday, February 25, 2021, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Jonathan Carl officiating. Burial will follow in the Buffalo Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM (ET), Wednesday and after 9 AM (ET), Thursday at the funeral home.
