Nelson Calles Jr.

Nelson A. Calles, Jr, age 66, of Upton, passed away, Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at his residence.

A devoted family man, he was a retired press mechanic for Heidelberg USA in Chicago.  A lifelong Chicago Bears, White Sox and Blackhawks fan, he enjoyed cooking, grilling, classic rock and his fur babies.

Nelson was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Melida Rodriguez Calles.

He was a devoted husband and partner to Elizabeth Calles; a loving and supportive father to Amanda (Ruben) Valenzuela and his bonus children, Chris (Lacey) Martin, Nikki Martin and Josef Martin; a dear big brother to Michael (Chrissy) Calles, Fernando (Jorgene) Calles, Trish (Rick) Williams and Oscar (Tiffany Miles) Calles; a dear brother-in-law to Scott (Tori) Trowbridge, Robert Trowbridge and Michael Trowbridge; a loving grandpa and papa to Bella, Tati, Thalia, Ava, Julian, Skylar and Dexter and a loving Uncle Moe/Nelson to Michael, Matthew, Michelle, Joe, Luke, Robbie Eva, Jake, Jenna, Leo, Haylee, Antionette, Alex, Zach, Megan, Andrew, Jade, Kristian and Kristopher.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 5th at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville.

The family will have a celebration of life in Chicago at a later date.
