Nancy Ellen Burba

Nancy H. Burba, age 95, of Hodgenville, born on April 18, 1930, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

A dedicated educator, Nancy spent over 30 years teaching at Hodgenville Elementary, where she inspired countless students and fostered a love of learning in each of them. Her passion for teaching and her nurturing spirit left a lasting impact on her community. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family and students will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John H. Burba; her parents, Fred and Lottie Skaggs Howell; a grandson, Jake Owen and several brothers and sisters.

Nancy is survived by her cherished children, Jane Owen (Harry), Hank Burba (Dana) and Ellen Brooks; grandchildren, Jim Owen, Genny Burba, Chip Brooks, and Haley Brooks Kinnas, and seven great-grandchildren who will forever hold her memory dear in their hearts.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, August 8, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home, Deacon Jim Cecil officiating. Burial will follow alongside her husband in Red Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
