Mildred Jones Pickerell, age 94, of Hodgenville, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021, at her residence.
She was retired from Ft. Knox, was a 70 year member of Nolynn Baptist Church where she served as church clerk for 49 years, a member of Tonieville Homemakers, past president of Hodgenville Women’s Club and served on many community committees.
Mrs. Pickerell was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Pickerell; her parents, C.T. “Tom” and Emma Cobb Jones and a brother, Henry Jones.
She is survived by a son, George (Sandy) Pickerell of Hodgenville; a daughter, Sharon (George) Stiles of Elizabethtown; three granddaughters, Georgiana Pickerell and Whitney (Blake) Durrett, all of Hodgenville and Bethany (Luke) Shearrow of Elizabethtown; five great-grandchildren, Edison and Ren Durrett and Perker, Camden and Levi Shearrow; a brother, Charles (Elaine) Jones of Warsaw, MO; two sisters, Naomi McAfee of Catonsville, MD and Viola (Gene) Powell of Columbia, MO and a special caregiver, Dana Ridings.
Private graveside services will be held Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Big Springs Cemetery near Hodgenville with Bro. Blake Durrett officiating.
Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville is in charge of the arrangements.
