Marshall Lavell Cornell

Marshall Lavell Cornell went home to Jesus, on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Baptist Health Hardin Hospital.

Born September 1, 1946, in Pembroke, Kentucky to Warren G. and Naomi Ford Cornell who preceded him in death along with two sons, Marcus and Sterling Cornell; a sister Linda Jones and two brothers, Randel and Lander Cornell.

He worked for General Electric in Louisville for 35 years.

Marshall is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marie Stratton Cornell; two daughters, Audrey (Kenny) Smallwood of Greensburg and Kristina (Todd) Pigg of Ekron; three grandsons, Kenton (Samantha) Smallwood, Tyler (Samantha) Smallwood and Brent Pigg; a granddaughter, KaRissa (Sabrina) Smallwood; five great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Jessica Cornell of Greensburg and his dog MayBelle.  

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. (EST) Thursday, February 8, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Bro. Richard Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Pikeview Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. (EST) Wednesday and continue after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
