Marlene McClure Gambrell, age 90, of Elizabethtown, passed away Monday, May 12, 2025, at RobinBrooke Senior Living.
She was born and raised in Hodgenville and spent her adult life in Florida before moving back to Elizabethtown. Marlene worked for Prudential and as a receptionist for Dr. Adler’s office in Jacksonville, FL for over 27 years. She attended Englewood Baptist Church for over 50 years, serving on several committees.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronnie and Gertrude Ferris McClure and six siblings, Ronnie McClure, Jr., Glovis McClure, Corine Edlin, James William McClure, Paul McClure and Melvin McClure.
Marlene is survived by a daughter, April (Edward) Bell of TX; two sisters, Barbara Hall of Louisville and Betty Sue “Susie” Bruska of IN; three grandchildren, Matthew Bell, Joshua (Andrea) Bell and Olivia Bell; a special friend and caregiver, Barbara (Freddie) Gowen of Hodgenville and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Pastor Ken Cutrer officiating. Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery in Hodgenville.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
