Marietta Wilson, age 92, of Hodgenville, passed away, Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Baptist Health Hardin.
She along with her husband Bill owned and operated Wilson Market in Hodgenville and later in Elizabethtown. Marietta was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, she loved to quilt, sew and being outside taking care of her flowers.
Marietta was preceded in death by her parents, William and Anna Casey Portman; six brothers, Johnny, Frank, Paul, Robert, James and Gene Portman; two sisters, Peggy Elmore and Catherine Kehne.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Wilson; a daughter, Karen (Tom) Smith of Hodgenville; three grandchildren, Laurie (Billy) Cheser, Abby (Brennan) Conway and Ryan Smith and four great-granddaughters, including Amelia Smith and Stella Rose Cheser.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, Father Ben Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday night at the funeral home.
