Margaret Ellen “Peggy” Carter, age 79, of Hodgenville, passed away, Monday, October 7, 2024, at Kindred at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
She loved animals, especially her cats, traveling, having visited 49 states and Europe and enjoyed good food and Jeopardy. Peggy was also a history buff, could play the piano by ear and proudly owned and operated Carter Tax Service for 52 years.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Catherine Carroll Borders and her first husband, Norman Carter.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Krueter; a daughter, Heather (Darrell LeClear) Carter and a granddaughter, Machaela LeClear.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 11, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Hodgenville with Father Brian Kenney officiating. Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery.
A Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 pm. Thursday at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home with Deacon Jim Cecil officiating.
Visitation will be from 1 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
