Louetta Howell Polley, age 96, of Hodgenville, passed away, Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville after a brief illness with her daughter by her side. The family would like to compliment the staff at Norton Brownsboro for their care and compassion.
She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church. Louetta attended Transylvania College and WKU. Her first job was teaching school in a one room schoolhouse, which was not her cup of tea. She was happy to accept an offer from Mr. Walter Cole to work at Lincoln National Bank, where she had a long and successful career. She was loved by the staff and customers alike.
But most importantly, she was the most wonderful mother in the world and she will be greatly missed.
Louetta was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Plez” Polley; her parents, Wayne and Betty Skaggs Howell; two brothers, Albert Marshall (Shug) and William Joseph Howell; a sister, Lucille Howell.
She is survived by a daughter, Monde Polley Clore of Louisville; a sister, Betty Joyce Netherton of Louisville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home, Bro. Sid Lewis officiating. Louetta will be laid to rest next to her husband Plez in Red Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
