Linnie Wyatt Gardner, Jr., age 77, of Hodgenville, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2022, surrounded by family at his residence.
He was retired from Vac Magnetics (formerly Crucible) in Elizabethtown where he worked for over 37 years; a veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Middle Creek Baptist Church. Some of his greatest joys in life were spending time with his grandchildren, of whom he was incredibly proud and fishing whenever he got the chance.
Linnie was preceded in death by his parents, Linnie Wyatt Gardner Sr. and Selmah Bell Gardner; a sister, Mary Margaret Skaggs and five brothers, Carl Leroy, Marvin, Harrison “Shorty”, Henry and James “Tubby” Gardner.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joyce Lee Gardner; three children, William Lee Gardner of Florence, Gerald Gardner of Murfreesboro, TN and Jennifer Gardner of Louisville; four sisters, Martha “Jean” Bianco, Gracie Shelton, Doris Lee (Steve) Skaggs and Mary Gibson; four brothers, Ray (Elizabeth) Gardner, John “Bobby” (Barbara) Gardner, Charles (Nancy) Gardner and Norman (Diane) Gardner; six grandchildren, Emily Gardner, Sean Gardner, Brian Gardner, Katelyn Gardner, Zach Gardner and Adam Reeve; many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Sid Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Middle Creek Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
