Lillian Odell Hawkins, age 100, formerly of Magnolia, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023, in Louisville.
She was born in the Pikeview Community of Hart County on November 2, 1922, to the late Joel Edward and Annie Ellen Druen Chelf; loved quilting, making dolls and growing roses. She was a dedicated Christian, a member of Magnolia Baptist Church and wonderful homemaker, which she felt was her calling.
Odell was also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Hawkins; two brothers, Ralph and Roscoe Chelf and two sisters, Lenora Campbell and Genrose Hansen.
She is survived by her sons, Jerry (Bonnie) Hawkins of Lily, Henry (Phyllis) Hawkins of Indianapolis, IN and Glenn (Lisa) Hawkins of Crestwood; eight grandchildren, Mitchel (Darlene) Hawkins, Jonathan (Rochelle) Hawkins, Tonya (Shawn) Palmer, Stephen (Lisa) Hawkins, Joel (Heidi) Hawkins, Addie (Ron) Lenox, Julianne (Rob) Thomas, Jeremy (Christie) Hawkins; twelve great-grandchildren, Collin, Katie, Tom, Avalee, Ethan, Eli, Madison, Katherine, Victoria, A.J., Will and Lily and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Garland Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
