Lillian Dixon Underwood, age 88, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, formerly of Leavenworth, Kansas and Hodgenville, Kentucky, passed away, Sunday, July 16, 2023, in Bowling Green.
She was a former employee of Nationwide Uniform Company, Swingstar Manufacturing, the Catholic School System in Leavenworth. Lillian was a self-taught tax preparer having worked for H &R Block. She was a lover of Jesus and taught Sunday School and Bible Study to many children as well as adults and has led many people to the Lord.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Stanley Underwood; two sons, Otis W. and Tony Dale Underwood; her parents, Jack and Gertrude Stagner Dixon and a grandson, Nickolas Cosgrove; three brothers, Jack Jr., George Dixon and J.W. Goodwin; four sisters, Mary Frances Hawkins, Naomi Goodwin, Vera Watts and Betty Priddy.
She is survived by a daughter, Joy Underwood Cosgrove of Kansas; two sons, Steve (Connie) Underwood of Arizona and Keith (Rhonda) Underwood of Nashville; a brother, Jackie Dixon; a sister, Jean Dixon; 13 grandchildren, Wesley Underwood, Ricky Underwood, Kayci Wethington, Austin Sledge, Jason Underwood, Tara Nissen, Matt Cosgrove, Jake Cosgrove, Crystal Gallagher, Samatha Siems, Joshua Underwood, Dena Drislan and Abigail Underwood; 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 22, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, Keith Underwood will officiate. Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
