LeRoy Downs Obituary

LeRoy Downs, age 84, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Hodgenville, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at Signature Healthcare of Elizabethtown.

He was a member of New Horizon Baptist Church and a farmer.

LeRoy was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Rock; a son, Ricky Downs; his parents, John Isaac Sr. and Mattie Thurman Downs and three brothers, Joe, Bob and John Downs.

He is survived by his wife, Jonell Hill Downs; five daughters, Doris (Randy) Cruse of KY, Patricia (Larry) Downs Bright of CA; Mary (Chris) Holman of TX, Sue (Joe) Cooksey of AR and Linda Clark of TX; a son, Ron Downs of KY; a step-daughter, Chastity (Donte) Murry of KY; two step-sons, Scott Hill of KY and Jason Hill of WA; three sisters, Jane Cruse, Betty Helm and Rose Cruse, all of KY and numerous grand and great-grandchildren.

Private family funeral services will be held on Saturday at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with cremation to follow.
