Kenneth W. Martin

Kenneth W. Martin, age 80, was born of November 24, 1943 in Christian County, KY to the late Glendale and Ione Martin and passed away on the evening of Friday, June 28, 2024, at his home in Hodgenville.

At the age of 15, he started working alongside his father in the family business and continued for 60+ years, which he and his brothers continued to run after the passing of their father.  He was proud to be a part of building the family business, “Martin Flooring” which to this day encompasses four generations.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Cassie Lafferty; a nephew, Daniel Webb; a sister-in-law, Peggy Martin and a brother-in-law, Eddie Wells.

He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Faye Pigg Martin, whom he first met in third grade.  Together they had three children, Lorie Lafferty, David Martin (Belinda) and Jennifer Roberts (Kevin).  He was a proud grandfather to Scott Lafferty, Victoria Martin, Dylan Martin (Jaylyn), Alexis Gillespie (Brandon), Harrison Roberts (Emma) and Paige Martin and great-grandfather to Mallorie, Aubrey, Brayden and Willow.  He is also survived by four siblings, Larry Martin (Alma), Nancy Wells, Ronnie Martin (Cheryl) and Rhonda Martin (Dave).

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Steve Lee officiating.  Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
