Katie (Shelton) Cooper

Katie Shelton Cooper, age 48, of Hodgenville, passed away, Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the University of Louisville Hospital.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she enjoyed the Ladies Bible study group, was a former salesperson at Herb Jones and Less Pinkham car dealerships in Elizabethtown, a member and past president of the Hodgenville Women’s Club, a volunteer for LaRue County School Systems Reading Program. Katie was heavily involved in Dystonia research, an advocate for organ donation and a LaRue County Softball fan.  

Katie was preceded in death by her mother, Pattie O’Dell; her step-father, Harold Cundiff and a brother, Mike Shelton.

She is survived by her husband, Greg Cooper; her daughter, Shelby Cooper of Hodgenville; her parents, Gary and Mona Shelton of Bowling Green; a brother, Abe (Jamie) Shelton of Glasgow; a step-brother, Randy (Carmen) Gaskins of Bowling Green; five nephews, Tucker Shelton, Tad Shelton, Tom Shelton, Bo Shelton and Griffin Gaskins and a niece, Ragan Gaskins.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 23, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Billy Curle officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship No.2 Cemetery.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Sunday until time for services.

Katie’s Pallbearers will be her nephews.
