Karla Bishop Obituary
Karla Jane Bishop, age 56, of Hodgenville, formerly of Pennsylvania, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.
An avid UK fan, she was talented, self-taught artist, doing mostly pencil drawings and owning and operating her own airbrushing company; she also drove a semi and was a member of the American Legion in Pennsylvania.
Karla was preceded in death by her parents, Walter “Dukie” and Elizabeth Self Bishop and a brother, James “Jimmy” Bishop.
She is survived by a daughter, Monika Beth (J.D.) Markel of PA; four grandchildren, Nevaeh Keefer, Elijah Keefer, Dallan Markel and Matthias Markel; a sister, Libby Ann (Gene) Grimes of Hodgenville and two brothers, J.D. (Judith) Bishop of Caneyville and Kenny (Kathy) Bishop of Hodgenville.
Karla was cremated and the family will have a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 21, at Corinth Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Maggard officiating. Burial of her ashes will follow in the church cemetery.
