Joseph Matthew “Joe” McCoy, age 92, of Hodgenville, passed away Monday, February 12, 2024, at his residence.
He retired from Gates Rubber Company in Elizabethtown after 29 years, attended Salem Christian Church and enjoyed talking about sports, visiting with his friends and genealogy.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas “Mac” and Mary Jane Druen McCoy; two brothers, Billy Smith McCoy and William Handley “Hots” McCoy; a son-in-law, Tim Curry and a great-grandson, Conor LaFollette.
He is survived by his wife Sarah Jane Castleman McCoy; two daughters, Rebecca “Becky” Curry of Buffalo and Janet (Gilbert) Graham of Summersville; two sons, William “Billy” (Christy) Woodcox of Elizabethtown and Joseph Matthew “Joey” (Shawn) McCoy, Jr. of Hodgenville; a sister, Alveda Bena of WA; two brothers, Quint McCoy of NC and Rodie McCoy of Louisville and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 16, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Sid Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Middle Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
