Joseph Allen O'Daniel

Joseph Allen O’Daniel, age 87, of Elizabethtown, passed away, Monday, November 25, 2024, at Signature Health Care in Elizabethtown.

He was an Air Force veteran and retired civil services at Ft. Knox.

Allen was preceded in death by a son, Bobby O’Daniel; his parents, Earl and Lucille Hamilton O’Daniel; five sisters, Edith Higgins, Jenny Needy, Patricia Ashbrook, his twin sister, Aline Lanham and Sharon Logsdon; two brothers, Tony and Eddie O’Daniel.

He is survived by, his wife, Surena O’Daniel; a son, Michael (Carmen) O’Daniel of Elizabethtown; a daughter, Monique “Monnie” O’Daniel of Elizabethtown; two grandchildren, Michelle O’Daniel and Greg (Megan) O’Daniel; four great-grandchildren, Keaton, Kendall, Madelynn and Greyson; three sisters, Linda Barksdale and Fran Hiser both of Louisville and Roberta Smith of Bardstown; a brother, Jerry (Norma) O’Daniel of Bardstown.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home, Bro. Sid Lewis officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Allen’s pallbearers will be Greg O’Daniel, Keaton Blackwell, Ben Devers. Jerry O’Daniel, Paul O’Daniel and Eddie O’Daniel.
