Joe Wayne Skaggs

Joe Wayne Skaggs, age 79 years, of Hodgenville, passed away, Sunday, December 16, 2018, at his residence.

He was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church near Buffalo for over seventy years, member of LaRue County Sportsman’s Lake, a self-employed construction worker and he enjoyed playing golf at the LaRue County Country Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard E. and Martha Jane Warren Skaggs and a brother, Jimmie Skaggs.

He is survived by his wife, Noyce Gasaway Skaggs; two daughters, Sierra (Calvin) Smith of Lexington and Stephanie (Kevin) Boone of Howardstown; two sons, Mitchell Wayne (Sandra) Skaggs of Winchester and Chris (Vanessa) Dunn of Magnolia; a sister, Barbara Easton of Elizabethtown; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church with Bro. Billy Whitlock officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. 

Visitation will begin after 11 AM Wednesday at the church until time for services.
