Janet Sue Powell Handley

Janet Sue Powell Handley, age 68, of Hodgenville, passed away, Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.

She retired from Akebono of Elizabeth after 28 years, a member of First Baptist Church and the Missionary Society. Janet loved playing softball in her younger days and coaching softball as an adult.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Maxine Handley Powell; two sisters, Donna Powell and Vicki Robinson; two brothers, James and Ronnie Powell.

She is survived by a daughter, Leslie (Ronrico) Williams of Elizabethtown; a grandson, Kendric Williams of Elizabethtown; a sister, Peggy Jeffers; two brothers, Roland Hayes Powell and Bobby Kent Powell; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home, Elder Jerry Wilkinson officiating. Burial will follow in Hubbard Cemetery.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
