James Robert "J.R." Vessels

James Robert “J.R.” Vessels, age 76, of Hodgenville, passed away, Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.

He was an Army veteran, retired electrician at Dow Corning after 35 years. J.R. enjoyed auto restoration, custom painting and repair.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Oris Bright Vessels; a sister, Alice Butler, and a brother, LeRoy Vessels.

J.R. is survived by his wife of 51 years, Norma Thomas Vessels; a son, Jay Vessels of Paris; a daughter, Carla (Steve) Preston of Cecilia; a granddaughter, Julia Vessels; three brothers, Tommy (Tammy) Vessels of Cloverport, Carl Vessels of Hodgenville, and Terry (Shirley) Vessels of Brownsville.  

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 25, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home with Bro. Rodney Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be 10:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
