James Melvin Brown, age 71, of Gleanings, passed away, Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Norton Hospital in Louisville.
He was a member of Union Band Baptist Church, a former employee at Gates Rubber Company for over 30 years and loved to hunt and fish.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, James and Viola Underwood Brown; a granddaughter, Ava Foster; two sisters, Kim Bell and Susan “Neicey” Devers and two brothers, Barry “Tinker” Brown and Brian Brown.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Brockman Brown; two daughters, Stephanie and Regina Brown both of Hodgenville; a son, Dougie (Melisaa) Brown of Buffalo; six grandchildren, Jacob Brown, Ashton Whaley, Seth Whaley, Tiffany (Cameron) Larrison, Micheal Mcintosh, Ace Foster and Axel Foster; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gale Cundiff and Tracey Sims and three brothers, Bruce Brown, Byron (Brenda) Brown and Gary (Lori) Brown.
Melvin was cremated.
No services are scheduled.
