James “Jim” Evans, age 89, of Hodgenville, passed away, Sunday, March 16, 2025, at his residence.
He was a very generous and giving man, enjoyed whittling and woodworking, loved to mow and use a chainsaw and Cut down the Boundary Oak Tree. More than anything, he loved his family.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Jodie and Ayra Brown Evans and a brother, Floyd “Fatts” Evans.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mardell Evans; two daughters, Debbie (Hank) Reed, Tami (Mitch) Noble; two sons, Joey (Velvet) Evans, Jamie Evans; three sisters, Betty Smith, Elsi Burba, Linda Skaggs; a brother, Herman “Pewee” (Carla) Evans; three grandchildren, Evan Reed, Jody Eberly, Danielle Evans and sevral great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, at Bethesda Ministries in Elizabethtown, Located at 2738 Ring Road with Bro. Jerry Westerfield officiating. burial will follow in Hodgenville Pentecostal Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Church.
