James Handley Warren, age 88, of Buffalo, passed away, Thursday, November 7, 2024, at his residence.
He was a lifelong member of Pleasant Ridge Separate Baptist Church serving as a deacon for over 41 years, retired from Thompson Heading and Staves, was a logger and farmer.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Oma Elsie Sprowles Warren; his step-father, Edmond Loyall; two sisters, Judell Greenwell and Sue Heller and two brothers, Curtis “Gene” Warren and Charles Warren.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Edith Skaggs Warren; a daughter, Kristy (Marty) Stillwell of Mt. Sherman; two sons, Wesley (Dana) Warren of Campbellsville and Jason (Whitney) Warren of Buffalo; five grandchildren, Jordan (Morgan) Warren, Natalie Warren, Mikayla (Hunter) Warren, Chaley Warren and Macy Stillwell; two sisters, Debbie (Chris) Deignan of Louisville and Rita (Steve) Weldon of Shepherdsville; two brothers, Bobby Warren of Mt. Sherman and Gary (Susie) Loyall of Louisville and a sister-in-law, Maryanne Warren of Virginia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 11, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bros. Daryl Coe and James Crim officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
