Howard Donald "Donnie" Sutherland

Howard Donald “Donnie” Sutherland, age 84, of Buffalo, passed away, Monday, April 15, 2024, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.

He was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church; a lifelong farmer and cattle hauler and worked at Burbon Stockyards for many years.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Edna Hines Sutherland and a sister, Phyllis Duncan.

He is survived by his wife, Naomi Sutherland; a daughter, Deanna (Timmy) Creason; a son, Danny (Sandy) Sutherland; five grandchildren, Amber (R.W.) Chaudoin, Jessica (Jimmie) Wood, Alexis Sutherland, Aleasha (Travis) DeSpain and Jacob (Tiffany) Sutherland; eleven great-grandchildren and a sister, Carolyn (Carl) Mather.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 18, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Ryan Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and continues after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Donnie’s pallbearers will be R.W. Chaudoin, Travis DeSpain, Jacob Sutherland, Nathan McClure, Trenton DeSpain, Nick Brooks and C.E. Mather.  Honorary pallbearer will be Lyle Warren.
