Hilda Lee Gaddie, of Hodgenville, was born into this life February 12, 1942, to the late Eugene and Mary Jayne Gehm Hammer and completed her journey November 23, 2025.
Our precious, sweet mother will truly be missed. She gave generously of herself in every season of her life and we are thankful to have those precious memories to cherish. Her legacy is woven into the lives of those she loved and nurtured. She enjoyed family, friends, food and life. She loved traveling, cruises, and just going out and about.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Gaddie; her granddaughter, April Pierce; her parents; a special friend Kenneth Taylor, and her sisters, Tommy Pogue and Debbie Nall.
Left to cherish her memories are her four children; Veronica (Curt) Bell of Mt. Sherman, Becky (Jim) Wolf of Louisville, David (Missy) Gaddie, and Sharon Pearman all of Hodgenville; her 12 grandchildren, Jeremy (Katie) Wolf, Ashley (Kyle) Kelly, Steve (Michelle) Hughes, Kayla (Zacharey) Garrett, Jessie Bell, Titus (Mary) Pearman, Rachel (Todd) Enlow, Sarah (Simeon) Hackworth, Timothy (Beth) Pearman, Rebekah (Casey) Brooks, Hannah (Isaiah) Toro, and Thomas Pearman; 28 great-grandchildren; Laci, Lexi, Eva, Mila, Parker, Sadie, Abel, soon to be here August Layne, Rowan, Reece, Christian, Cole, Mattox, Sadie, Wesley, Waylon, Jaclyn, Ansley, Clara, Linden, Paizlee, Paxton, Beau, Finn, Rhett, Jase, Carter, and Theo; three sisters, Deane (Edward) Brune, Sally Wolf and Vicki Hammer.
We take comfort in this scripture that she is at peace after a long struggle with dementia, Jude v. 21; Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 26, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home with Bro. David Webb officiating. Burial will follow alongside her husband in South Fork Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
