Hazel DeSpain Edmonds, age 87, of Mt. Sherman, formerly of Green County passed away, Sunday, July 13, 2025, at her residence.
She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and attended DeZarn Chapel Church. Hazel was a very devoted, loving, caring and selfless woman, the “Rock” of the family as described by her daughters, everyone could depend on her.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, William Jackson “Jack” Edmonds; her brothers, Willie and Edward DeSpain.
She is survived by three daughters, Rosetta Edmonds of Mt. Sherman, Rebecca (Cecil) Wooden of Elizabethtown and Melissa (Moe) Edmonds of Louisville; eight grandchildren, Bo Brown, Scotty (Sierra) Brown, Todd (Darla) Brown, Tonya Buchannon, Chuckie Sanders, Erick Sanders, Jessica (Tim) Gil and Jordain Edmonds; 17 great-grandchildren, Brent, Kiernan, Riley, Elizabeth, Lillie, Kevin, Aiden, Adrienne, Jolene, Silas, Emma, Bella, Izaiah, Ameila, Esmeralda, Alejandra and Gabe; a great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and other family.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. (ET) Friday, July 18, 2025, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Bro. Stewart Skaggs officiating. Hazel will be laid to rest alongside her husband on the Edmonds Family Farm.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. (ET) Thursday and continue after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
